Agenda and timing

This is a general guideline of our sessions. Specific session details will be notified via email closer to the date. Please send an email to satipasalansw@gmail.com to be added to the distribution list.

We plan to start 10 minutes before the session at 5.50 PM AEST time (1.20 PM SL time) as there will be participants from multiple locations.

5.50 pm - Participants join the call. Introductions and Housekeeping

6.00 pm - Bell. Start the program with agenda

6.05 pm - Mindfulness refresher

6:10 pm - Present how we practice Mindful walking and Mindful sitting

6:20 pm - Walking practice

6.35 pm - Mindful sitting

6.50 pm - Break and Writing Reflections

7:15 pm - Mindful activity/Game and discussion

7:30 pm - Reflection review and Q&A

8:00 pm - Close

How to prepare for this session

(1). There will be time to write reflections on the day. Please ensure that you have an account to login to Canvas. If not please inform the organisers an email so that they can set you up.

(2). Children need a shoe with laces for the mindful activity

General guidelines:

(1). Children should be dressed appropriately as if they are at a regular session. They will see all other kids and facilitators throughout this period on video. A screenshot of how they see each other is given below.

(2). There should be a device that can independently stand itself on a desk at eye height. Laptop, desktop, tablet or ipad is recommended. Mobile phones are not appropriate since the screen is smaller and the viewing features are different.

(3). The setting should allow the children to follow a guided walking session hence it is advisable to have sufficient space to walk at least 10 steps.

(4). When seated (on a chair or the floor) the video should show the child’s face similar to a passport photo ( i.e. chest up). See below setup as a guideline.

(5). Multiple connections from the same household may affect the signal strength if using WiFi, therefore use a maximum of two devices per household.

(6). Parents should be available to assist the children in managing the session.
